An outworld is a must for your established ant colony. They simply need an open foraging ground to explore and find food. Without one they will likely not survive.
This outworld is equipped with a 5.0" inch removable cover to make it easy to feed and clean up after your ants. This newly improved design features a partially threaded cover which can be quickly inserted 75% of the way before locking, preventing escapers in a mad dash for freedom. The cover effortlessly locks into place with 8 threads around the circumference. The partial threading allows for a fast cover alignment.
The ultra fine 304 Stainless steel screen mesh provides a barrier for fresh air to come in but wont allow your ants escape. The mesh is heat infused into the cover an lid. Tight tolerances between the lid and cover (~.005 inches) will prevent most insects from passing through even before locking.
Why Frosty/clear? Ants like to hide in darker areas. Our previous outworld was black which tended to attract ants to the top.
Rim is secured with aquarium safe silicon adhesive.

This nest may not keep in all species of ants. If you are keeping especially tiny ants we suggest applying a slip barrier to further prevent them from escaping.
For best Glow In The Dark results, place bright light close to the formicarium and let charge for at least 10 minutes. Results will vary on lighting conditions. UV light works best.
